SUPER DERBY ŽILINA WINTER 2025-26 – WINTER EDITION.

Greetings to racing pigeon breeders and especially enthusiasts of comparing young pigeons in OLRs.

I am embarking on the project of the winter edition of the SUPER DERBY ŽILINA for several reasons:

It is mainly that the last winters have been very mild, and 99% of the time the weather is like in autumn.

In southern Europe, such as Spain and Portugal, these winter editions have long been established, and in recent years they have become more popular than the summer editions.

This is mainly due to the unbearable heat, in summer even over 40 C, as well as the greater morbidity of pigeons in summer than in winter and early spring.

Also, the audience in the winter edition is greater among breeders than in summer, because there are no races in regional associations.

Personally, I prefer these winter editions and I have greater success in them than in summer TS.

– I will prepare the propositions and awards for this winter edition in the coming days.

– Registration starts on 15.7. and pigeon storage will be from 20.7. to 10.10.2025.

– For this competition, TEAM 3 + 2 pigeons will be free, i.e. a 5-piece team for 600€.

– Awards will be calculated already with the participation of 1000 paid pigeons, and will be competitive with world test races.

– The final race will take place between 17.4. and 24.4.2026. from a distance of 420 – 490km and will probably be in the 2026 season under the FCI and WORLD LEAGUE brand.
